I like Fern Hill. Was the choir local?

Yes. And the Meistersingers were good for much of it.

I enjoyed reading about MR BK's lunch with Mr. Richard Sherman.

I always thought Pet Bog looked a bit like former DR JMK.

Yesterday about 12:15 p.m. my doorbell rang.

I went to answer and there was a food delivery on my front porch table and a man in a car trying to make a getaway!

I waved at him and yelled and he came back up and I told that him I had not ordered anything.  I told him my address and he said "That's the address on the order.....it says it's from your mother."

I told him my mother didn't have access to a credit card in heaven.

I told him it was probably for 20 Fairwood Ct.  instead of 20 Fairlane Dr......he asked me where that was and I said around the corner first street to the right.

I HOPE SOMEBODY GOT THEIR LUNCH.

It's good that he came back and took the food!

"Why can't It Be Like It Was?" from Merrily We Roll Along kept running through my head all night. So, now I'm listening to the Encores! recording and crying like a baby. I detested the original production; it was like a mediocre high school production and none of the kids in that cast knew what their older characters were about - although Lonny Price's "Franklin Shepard Inc," was really wonderful - until the scene containing "Old Friend." By then it was too late.

I think Steve mproved the score in later revisins. "Growing Up" is a heartbreaking number.

And I have peanuts and macadamian nuts, both which are good when mixed with the chocolate chips.  A handful of chocolate chips and nuts tastes like chocolate covered nuts.

Supposedly a package was delivered to us yesterday.  A photo of where it was delivered would have at least let us know if it was delivered somewhere in our complex.  It was not delivered to our floor, by the mail boxes, or outside the building.

Like It Was is probably my favorite Sondheim song.

I also think Sondheim improved the score, but I still like Rich and Happy better than That Frank.

Growing Up is an odd song. Does Frank merely echo what Gussie told him? If nit, are Charley and Mary wrong for wanting himto remain true to his original dream?

Isn't that's what's so good about the song? It adds more complexity to the situation instead of it just being "Frank sells out." He starts being sympathetic earlier than the second act, even if it's ambiguous whether he's fooling himself or not.

I still miss "The Hills of Tomorrow" but after seeing the Broadway revival I do agree the show works better without it. I keep the OBC recording for the original score but I think the new cast is better in every way.

Taxes are finished! I also had to deal with an Indiana University email I overlooked nine days ago about a Zoom meeting with the ballet conductor. I was profusely apologetic and truly embarrassed. Hopefully, this week the conductor and I will converse, and we'll do a trial run for next Monday night's (shudder!) band rehearsal.
