I usually don't cut sandwiches in half but if I do, it's always in half.

I just suffered through the most hideous production (if you can call it that) of Follies EVER - Opera Toulon in France. The worst acting, direction, choreography, non-set - beyond inept. It really takes the cake for a director and cast not understanding the material they're doing. The Buddy especially was horrific - and his Follies number with him in his undergarments (apparently no one told him the he should wear a dance belt) was grotesque. The orchestra sounds great and they did it sans intermission, so points for that, but then we have to take away points for the idiot who directed it for video - the constant cutting to the conductor during the musical numbers made me want to choke an artichoke but that would be redundant, as Arti is already choking the artichoke.

Wow, the costume designer really went all out for the "You Gotta Get a Gimmick" number in this production of Gypsy!

Wow!  That definitely is quite the costume!

Wollemi pines — thought to have gone extinct 2 million years ago — were rediscovered in 1994. Scientists are now hoping to reintroduce the species in the wild in a conservation effort that could take centuries.

Starting a three-hour Abel Gance silent film called J’Accuse. It’s set during the time before and during World War I.

That was on TCM several years ago, and I made a DVD of it for my dad.

I did eat some chicken pasta salad - I hadn't planned on eating after my three o'clock lunch, but my tummy told me otherwise.

I liked the woman who played Sally (but certainly not her costume), and I thought Liz Robertson as Phyllis and the woman who sang "Who's That Woman" were pretty good, too.

George had already gone off to eat a burrito.

I haven't had a burrito in quite a while.  Tonight I had a Whopper. :)

I thought everyone was terrible, straight down the line :) The Who's That Woman person looked like a cross between Totie Fields and Divine. Then again, I saw the original.

It still surprises me when I remember that Liz Roberstson was the eighth (and final) Mrs. Alan Jay Lerner.
