L sent the Indiana U conductor Marzio Conti a fan letter this morning. As you know, I think he's quite wonderful, and he sent me this response:
You did a wonderful job, I just love it , that’s the reason I’m so involved so : THANK YOU!

DR singdaw - former DR CILLA LIZ has been interviewed a couple of times by MSNBC, I think.  She has some interesting questions for the former president and is used as an example of a former supporter who has moved on to an extent.

True, but I wouldn't be surprised if she votes for him vs Biden.  I hope I am wrong.

Today is Friday, you know what means...

Do you remember what it meant on The Mickey Mouse Club?

IIRC, isn't Friday "Talent Roundup Day"?

Around these here parts, it means it's fried fish for lunch in all the major eating establishments.

Given that we are all basically southern Baptists or other non-Catholic denominations, it seems rather odd to me that this "fish on Friday" tradition resonates so strongly.  Even the Catholics have moved on from it, so I believe.

I forgot about Friday talent day.

When I was young my parents often traveled to conventions so we had live in help.  Fridays meant fish for dinner, which for me meant tuna salad or a lot of tarter sauce over something small-lol

In the event you did not know this, Johnston SC proclaims itself "the Peach Capital of the world."  We have thousands of acres of peach orchards around here, and they are all in bloom.  It's a beautiful sight, but the worry is, as always, that a cold snap with lingering sub-freezing temperatures might destroy the crops.

In other words, the trees are blooming way too early to have much confidence in the annual crop.  If the weather stays mild, all is good.

Beautiful photos.  Vibes your peach crop is good and delicious.

Growing up in Columbus, Ohio in the 50s and probably continuing in South Florida in the 60s, Friday meant fish sticks in the school cafeteria because of those strange and exotic Catholics, of which there was precisely one (1) family and school chum on our block.

I suppose they were a Friday option at our school but since I never liked eating in the cafeteria I had my usual sandwich.

The estimated restoration time is 10:00 am, so hopefully, not much longer.

Can I assume your sister is without power? Or was she calling to see if you are?

I had a very strange dream last night in which there was an Evil Force controlling people through mirrors.

I was in a room with a drum table with a mirrored surface. I was doing pretty well avoiding the mirror, but then I noticed that the table was starting to dip and bend toward me...

And then I woke up.
