The staged reading of Bethany tonight would not have been to BK’s liking. A narrator announced the scenes and settings. She also read the notes on a violent scene that the actors didn’t attempt to act out.

As for the play itself, described as a darkly comic thriller, well, it wasn’t. Comic, yes, but not dark and not a thriller.
