Finishing the special material on Freaks. There’s a podcast on the movie and it’s irritating. Makes me realize why I don’t listen to podcasts.

It crossed the trail, but by the time I got the lens cap off, its head was in the shade and it was moving away from me. Then is moved through the grasses and I couldn't get a clear shot of its head.  Then it moved to the wash, going away from me, so I pretty much just got a rear shot.

TWO rattlesnake seasons!  October and November. Then again March through May.

In the cold, they hibernate. In the summer, they hunt at night.

Just did the eBook stuff - I'll let you know when it's up, for those who may want to read it in advance of the hardcover and softcover release. The eBook version also has sixteen pages of color photos rather than the black-and-whites of the hard copies.

Though the fighting male rattlers I videoed was actually in February.  It's all temperature dependent.

Someone at church brought in a dish of bobotie today, a South African ground meat dish with raisins in it. It was kind of like a sweet shepherd’s pie. Not sure what I thought of it.
