I just read this on Dan Rather's Facebook page:

"DJT selling bibles is like Marjorie Taylor Greene selling self-help books."

My question for ASK BK DAY:

What is your favorite card game?

I really loved playing Kalooki with my Mom and Dad and some of their friends in Florida.

The middle of Kalooki is loo, which is ool spelled backwards.

I am watching the latest season of All Creatures Great and Small. I just noticed that the front of the DVD set says "Based on the worldwide bestselling novels by James Herriot." I never knew they were novels.

According to Wikipedia (and I believe everything I read there), the books were occasionally fictionalized, so novels is apt I thought they were memoirs. But only partially.

I read All Creatures Great and Small when the original show aired.  I can't remember if I read more than the first book.

I don't know why they are called memoirs.

Learned a new word from All Creatures: stickybeak. It's a nosy person.

Actually, there is another definition:

In Australian and New Zealand slang, a “stickybeak” refers to two related concepts:

An Overly Inquisitive Person: It describes someone who is excessively curious or nosy, often poking their metaphorical “beak” into matters that don’t directly concern them. Imagine a nosey parker who can’t resist prying into other people’s business1.

An Act of Looking or Watching: When someone takes a peek or observes something, especially if it’s not directly relevant to them, they’re having a “stickybeak.” For instance, you might say, “Shall we take a stickybeak at that shop?” or "Have a stickybeak at this floor plan!"1.

I did have a FedEx delivery, and HOORAY!  I got my insulin injection pens!!!

All those exclamation marks caused me to misread the last word.

I was mightily confused.

Holy crap! DR Laura was correct!

You know, a nicely autographed (in gold leaf, please) copy of The God Bless the USA Bible would reside handsomely next to this favorite Florida souvenir. The denizens this household are not immune to the glories of religious kitsch found in such places as the Indian River Fruit stands or the Magic Castle Gift Shop just outside of Disney World.

;D

If I find one in a garbage can I might consider picking it up with tongs and sending it on,  it I won’t put a cent into that pocket

I have never removed a Facebook aquantance over political differences but after this meme, the person is gone.

"Remeber Mother's Day is for Mom's, not women in dresses-your day is April 1st."

Yep I’d get rid of them too

Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

Turns out the main writer for the early seasons of All Creatures is the writer of the upcoming miniseries, A Gentleman in Moscow. I loved that novel.
