TOD:

I won a few items at some silent auctions. I also won a couple of items at a charity auction, including a trip aboard the clipper ship, the Victory Chimes, which sails off the coast of Maine.

Black Forest Cake Day seems like it's worth celebrating.

Rush is six feet under and Alex should be.

Both deplorables of the worst order.

But "stretch marks" day or "catalytic converter" day are a bridge too far.

For Something on a Stick Day, it sounds like one could do that to Sondheim's "Someone in a Tree"

And there's something on a stick, or the day is incomplete.
Without something on a stick, nothing happened here.

One could try that, but one probably shouldn't.

Go to any state fair, and you'll find everything under the sun on a stick.

Thursday morning greetings!  Not sure where this week has gone, but here we are.  Today I’m off to Dayton for lunch with some friends.

Hmm, maybe a "State Fair" and "Pacific Overtures" mash-up would be right for "Something On a Stick."

There is a Hammerstein and Sondheim connection, after all.

I have actually accomplished all three tasks, so I am free the rest of the day. I have some small things to putter around the apartment, but I am taking it easy.

Yes, vixmom and singdaw, Rush Limbaugh is "dead-and-buried" and, in my thoughts, burning in hell.

I so want others, including "45", to join them.

I hate wishing anyone ill, but if in life someone is a true s**t, "ill" is all I can muster.

If I am not mistaken, today is Thursday in the CSRA.

Weather seems pleasant, too.

And it's cubed steak day at the Triangle Restaurant.

I will say it's my favorite day of the week because of that, but yesterday was fried pork chop day (they don't have regular rotation on that), so I bought a meal plus an extra chop for my dinner.

Twas good!

I suddenly recalled why April 26 is a question mark on my calendar.

I have received a summons from the County Clerk to serve as a Circuit Court Juror.  I have until the 26th to fill out their required paperwork.

One of the boxes on the form says that if I am over 65, I may be excused from serving.

Last I checked, I was 75.  That should do it, I think.

Of course, it could be interesting and could expand my view of the County and its citizens.  I need to know more about how long the service will be.
