As for the Dinsney-fied atmosphere, well ...

On one trip, my friends and I went out walking after midnight with their 8-year-old. The kid wanted to go to M&M World. On the way, the kid was handed a flier for some strip show. It was fairly graphically illustrated. His mom was horrified. He was thrilled.

M&Ms World was very pleasant even for adults, and was a perfect place to visit (this was in 2004) right after waiting for half-price tickets at the Vegas equivalent of TKTS.

The half price booth had been especially valuable for shows where seating was at the whim of the maitre d' of the room where the show was playing.

The maitre d' could usually be guided as to where to seat you with a small tip (at least back in 2004) - and that seemed to have nothing to do with whether you paid half-price or full-price for your ticket.

I think more shows are reserved seating in more recent years.

The NY Times is reporting that George Clooney will make his Broadway debut as actor and writer.

The mess from the fall is cleaned up, the Chewy order of cat food and treats has been put away, and I had a discussion with Doug about handling the ballet score ourselves vs giving it to a publisher. I think we've veering to handling ballet performances ourselves and giving the ballet suite - orsuites - to a publisher.

I have renewed my driving license.

It didn't expire until August, but I had a few minutes this morning to go online.

In Indiana one can renew the license online every OTHER time....but once you turn 75, you have to go into the BMV.  So the next time I will be 79.....so I'll have to make the trip.

That's being optimistic.....if the Duning-Kruger fool is elected, we not even HAVE driver's licenses OR any other kind of civility in our lives.

The silk oak is in the same family as the proteas from Hawaii. It produces a nevtar that is said to contain cyanide. So, don’t eat the flowers.

Listening to a couple of symphonies of Kurt Weill’s. Good stuff.

Poor little Stella is sick. She's been crying - almost shrieking - several times today, she vomited on the kitchen floor, and she either pooped or vomited on the bathroom rug. I cleaned it up but did not investifgate its makeup. I need that IRS refund, dammit!

Vibes that driver's licenses are here to stay, then!  :)

Unfortunately that gate was miles away and the doors closed before we could get there.

They aren't permitted to accost you anymore, at least that was the case last time we were there.

Our new flight isn't until 11:00.  We are beyond tired with the time difference.  I have no idea when I will return.

Correct, our flight has been delayed.  Unfortunately we are not able to sleep on planes.
