I dreamed that I had to write a Hanukka arrangement for the NYC Gay Men's Chorus, and for some reason I needed to talk to Ken Mandelbaum about it. I haven't spoken to Ken in years; ir dewbsahip fell apart when I stopped speaking to Ethan Mordden. So, I needed to take a bus to Brooklyn to Ken's parents' home. I waited with David, a Jewish boy I dated between 1983 and 84.  for the bus. Every bus in NYC came except for the one I needed. Somehow, though, we ended up in Brooklyn and got to Ken's parents' home. There was a walking tour of the Brooklyn neighborhood, and at some point David went from being a 25 year-old man to a child of around five (that I understand!).

Fascinating dream!  Several interpretations feel like they jump out, but better to leave that for the expert like Dream-o-Matic!

First of three spring concerts:  DONE.

That one went pretty well. Tomorrow brings the first rehearsal for next week's. And so it goes.

The current story of Sarah Paulson very strongly calling out the actress who in 1980 originated the role she did in "Talley's Folly" may have lessons about offering critiques when the critiques are not requested.

"Sarah Paulson Trounces Actor For 'Outrageous' 6-Page Email Of Notes On Her Performance"
https://www.huffpost.com/entry/sarah-paulson-trish-hawkins-notes_n_664380d3e4b09724138db078

From the article:
"star was asked if she would accept feedback from celebrities who come backstage to meet the cast after a theater show.

“I did do a play once. The last time I was on stage, I did a play called Talley’s Folly at the Roundabout, and the actress — and I’m going to say this, and I’m not going to ask you to cut this out, because I don’t f---ing care — this actress came to the play. Her name is Trish Hawkins. ‘Hi, Trish! Hi, Trisha!’” Paulson said. “Trish Hawkins came to the play … am I going to get sued? I don’t care, because I think this is outrageous.”"

Yikes, that Sarah Paulson story was even picked up in Entertainment Weekly and the Hollywood Reporter.

It's somewhat unequal because Trish Hawkins is not famous, so doesn't have a similar platform to respond.

It makes me wonder if what Trish Hawkins felt was that as the actress who originated the role, and who Lanford Wilson kept casting as Sally Talley in later plays in that Talley family series of plays, she had thoughts she was burning to offer.

(And how do you measure that an email is six pages rather than three or four - when an email can be printed out so many different ways?)

Some musings to try to get us to page 3, unless the subject wears too thin.

As a side note that Larry and Bruce may find interesting:  Danny Burstein had been Sarah Paulson's co-star in that Roundabout revival production of "Talley's Folly."

I don't think I'll be able to stretch my thoughts on this story all the way to page 3.

That's what Elizabeth Barrett Browning might have written, if she were writing today.

BK might like it if we offered you six HHW pages of notes on the limericks, but saying they're a delight for six pages might be a literal stretch.

But are HHW pages equivalent to pages in an email?

Well.......I was standing by the pianist last night as the title tune of the show OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-klahoma! was being choreographed and noticed a paper clip in her score.

I asked: "Are we not doing the encore?"

She replied: "Nope!"

I was very disappointed.....until I watched the choreography being taught......and realized we'd just see the same thing all over again in an encore.....once will be enough.....
