We spent about 3 hours there and then we’re hungry so decided to head out for lunch

We went to one of our local pizzerias and had a extra large pizza, half mushroom and half chicken francese.

Then we brought Mom back to her house and I took them out to see the Fire island lighthouse

Then we went for a walk on the beach so they could all see the Atlantic Ocean

Then I drove them to their hotel in Manhattan, driving as far west as possible on the Ocean Causeway

We finally arrived at the hotel they had booked in midtown

To discover their reservation had been cancelled

Apparently the credit card holding their reservation had expired at the end of last month and although a new one had been issued with the same exact number and the new expiration date some years hence, the credit card company had denied the charges, so the hotel had cancelled the reservation
