Well, you've read the notes, you know about Richard and me, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently singing Feed the Cows.

Did we completely eradicate 'ring around the collar' in the 1980s, because I don't hear about it much anymore.

BK, Richard's NY Times obituary was in my emails this morning. My first impulse was to call you and check on you. I knew you would be devastated, but a 4:00am phone call would be no comfort at all. DR John G was right; the news is like a death in the family, and I'm sitting here teary-eyed over a man I only met personally once, thanks to you, but I'm grateful I had the chance to tell him how much I loved his work. Thanks to you as well, I feel I knew the man through your comments about him on HHW.

Bless you both.

As soon as my usual chores are finished, I'm back to the Irish medley. I'd like to finish it today because I want to do the laundry tomorrow morning.

DR Elmore posts for me. The two nights at Triad in NYC were my only time ever to meet and be around Richard, but that was a precious week. This morning Kristi and Nathan and I have been looking through the snapshots I grabbed those two evenings.

EDIT:  And Marni Nixon! I hadn't even known she was there until we saw her and DR Elmore on the street afterward. This fall, it will have been ten years since that week. Little did we know.

I don't have one of me or Nathan, but Kristi treasures these memories, especially when he held her hand as she attempted to tell him what his music has meant in her life:

Here is one of Richard Sherman’s last songs, for a short animated film from last year. He still had it. It’s lovely.

Thanks DR FREDDIE.

Wonderful photos DR CHAS SMITH!

Great photos and stories in the notes.

I love this moment from the ALS Benefit with Mr. Richard Sherman and Ms. Hayley Mills......Mr. Sherman goes up a bit in the lyrics and Ms Hayley pretends she needs the lyric sheet, too, so goes into his pocket to get it....
