It's really an amazing film - he was a great director and his work here is stunning and I think Carl Boehm pulls off the spectacular feat of making us care about a serial killer.

I think my first time seeing it was at the Nuart or some such. Then I watched it on laserdisc, and then when I got the StudioCanal Blu-ray several years ago.
