I enjoyed reading about DR GEORGE's treasure hunt among his own possessions.  And the photos.

It looks like the Arena Theater was a movie theatre......in NYC.

DR JANE soon after the discovery of the wreck of the Titanic, there was a full page ad in the Indy paper that you could buy a piece of coal from the debris field.

No other items were being brought up at that time - I think there was a dispute over who owned the stuff.

The piece of coal was $39.95 and was mounted on that little base with a gold plated plaque that has our name on it....and a certificate of authenticity.  I bought the clear plastic cover to put over it.

Now and then some show up on EBAY.

I look at it now and then and think about that night.

The director asked me to run the sound cues on a CD player last night....and I was also reading Fassbender who is in Puerto Rico for the week.....so it was rather hectic.

Our female lead - who is also the director's daughter - has decided that her ad libs and business are hilarious and continues to be a lowlight of the evening....

She is also giving invaluable advice to the stage managers, the costumer, and line readings to the other actors.

The last time she appeared onstage was as one of the orphans in OLIVER! a few decades ago.

I thought of Arena Stage in the DC area, but how long has that been around? It also says "rain check"...?

The movie Film is Dead. Long Live film! last night was excellent, as was director Peter Flynn's and Robert Harris's discussion and Q&A afterwards.

It's about film preservation, and revolves around some of the notable film collectors of the recent and not-so-recent past. He has an earlier one called The Dying of the Light, about film presentation which revolves around some of the notable projectionists, and we all want to see that one, too. RAH will see about bringing it in and having Peter back for it. He's a very entertaining talker and was right at home with RAH.

Jason Scott of the site Internet Archives was there to see it, too, and it seemed like they all had plenty to talk about. Me, I can listen to all of that stuff until the cows come home.

Is she financing the production, by any chance?

I'm going to watch Origin this morning in honor of Juneteenth. I had read the book Caste a couple of years ago. This is about the writing of that.

I, of course, have something I want to pick up, namely Hitchcock's German version of Murder! (It's like Oklahoma! Exclamation mark included.)

DR singdaw, Juneteenth is not, yet, a federal holiday.

It has been a federal holiday for three years now.

I've decided to jump into the sourdough craze several years after it started. I'm on day three of my starter. It has bubbled and foamed and shot up in the glass and is doing everything it's supposed to.

And DR CHAS SMITH I am reading a book from 1957 titled Broadway In A Barn by Charlotte Harmon about a stock theatre in Connecticut that she and her husband ran....in a town called Guilford called The Chapel Playhouse.

I am assuming it's a real place.

Didn't know about it but it appears to be, or to have been, real.

Meanwhile, DR George needs to flip through those Playbills and find the Arena!  :)
