One more friend from PCPH claims he is coming to the reading on Saturday.

Fingers crossed everyone likes the play....or at least doesn't HATE IT.

Isn't that where they have the noted university FLUX U?

By noted, I mean I think I saw a note on a pillow to that effect.

Watching a couple of early Looney Tunes. There’s an odd Semetic or antisemitic joke in each. Here’s one

But I made up for it with strawberry rhubarb cheesecake (avert your eyes, DR John G.).

I can look at cheesecake and feel a thing. Just don’t make me taste any.

I felt a lot better during the day. I think the bread and cake helped. But tonight, the pain is back.

I miss Madeline Kahn.

She does so much by just singing the song.

I know I was late seeing The Trial, but the only theatrical showing I can positively name was during a Welles festival at USC in 1981. There might well have been an earlier one at some revival house, but I believe this was also my one time seeing Welles in person.

Which brings us to a nice easter egg on the Criterion release. They included something I was thrilled to find existed:  the film that was taken of his generous hour-and-twenty-minute long Q&A session after the movie that night. I had completely forgotten there had been a small crew there filming it. I had also mis-remembered where I sat that particular evening, so it took me a lot of slo-moing and freeze-framing, but I finally found myself in the audience. I also had to go through pictures from around that time to prove, even to myself, that that guy is, in fact, moi. It's too bad the film ends before Welles gets up to leave, because I would have been visible walking up the aisle almost alongside of him, along with the few in his entourage, just enjoying the proximity for one brief shining moment.

That's really cool, ChasSmith!

I have a digital .mov copy, but somehow it's been corrupted and only about 30 seconds are still viewable...the other 2 or so minutes can't be viewed at all. :P
