It was my understanding that Belgium's primary languages are Dutch (two Flemish branches), French and German.

Isn't Bruges the French name?

Good morning, ye merry folke!

I slept relatively well until some sneezing fits awakened me around 4:30i-sh.  After that came several more in 30-minute intervals.

Bottom line:  I am in the throes of a minor (one hopes) head cold.

How?  Well, I did go out amongst the masses yesterday for the haircut, the produce and for lunch.

Sigh.

The Robert Williams thing is beyond belief. I hope the guy somehow stumbles onto this episode being written about.

BK:  That having been said, I certainly don't suggest posting his location or any other personal info, but --

Did you check FB or anywhere else for a profile or something that would give a clue as to who he his, what he does, something about his friends, his interests, or, most important, his character? His first and last names are both common ones, so good luck with that. Just wondered.

Last night, because of DR John G, for the first time since summer 1972, I watched Alfred Hitchcock's wonderful Frenzy. As soon as the credits began, I was back in a Pittsburgh movie theatre in late June, 1972, where I saw the film with my friend George Brashears. I saw it again several months later in Middletown, when I moved back to my parents' home to hide out and lick my wounds after a disastrous teaching experience at a Pennsylvania college. I remembered bits of the film 50 years later, like the wonderfully comic scenes with Alec McCowen and Vivien Merchant, but I'd forgotten how unsettling the rape-murder of Barbara Leigh-Hunt was. After so many years of watching BBC programs, I was surprised to see Jean Marsh, Billie Whitelaw, and Bernard Cribbins.

DR John G, did you recognize Hyacinth Bucket's (pronounced Bouquet's) husband Richard?

I was also gobsmacked to see the screenplay was by Anthony Shaffer. The things you learn!

My friend and I arrived in L.A. on June 10, 1972, and already being Hitchcock devotees, we were very excited to see that his latest, FRENZY, would be opening at the Cinerama Dome. So that was my first time ever in the Dome.

I think IMDb says it opened on the 21st, but I'll have to check newspapers.com because I have it in a sort of diary that I kept for a short period of time back then that we saw it on the 28th. I was positive we were there on its opening night. I know damned well we intended to. Hmm...

We were thrilled with it then, and saw it in a few other theaters as it made its way around town (I even remember going to Pasadena to see it once later on, which seems bizarre) -- but when I watched it a few years ago after a long absence, I was able to appreciate so much of it even more.

English has become very due to video games ;D

I don't know about the French name for Bruges.

I think we all know who Robert Williams will be voting for in November and that's the worst thing I can say about anyone.
