I am enjoying my new computer configuration.  I have re-organized my desktop.  I am closer to the birdcage which I enjoy.....Nick & Nora are oblivious.

Since it is a beautiful Sunday in Amsterdam all the locals are out as well as the tourists.

It is way to crowded, plus there are bicycles ever.

Last year 15,000 bicycles were removed from the canals.  The driver on the boat said he helped rescue a drunk tourist last night that fell in the canal with his bike.

"The Lion" was one of only a few new films distributed by 20th Century-Fox in 1962.  That studio virtually shut down at one point while the production of "Cleopatra" was draining studio coffers, and nothing was left over except for TV production.  That's how I remember it, at any rate.

"The Lion" is classified as a British film, although it had some financing from Fox.  It had its world premiere in the UK
26 July 1962 (London), 19 August 1962 (United Kingdom), and December 21, 1962 (New York City), That's according to Wikipedia.

Of all Malcolm Arnold's film scores that I've heard, "The Lion" is my favorite.  The film has had showings on the Fox Movie Channel over the years, and it looked pretty good when I saw it...but my cable service took that channel away three years ago and added it to a sports package that I refuse to consider.

Have a blessed day, all.

It's sunny and hot in the CSRA.  Everywhere locally, in fact.

Hot, hot and more hot.

It's a dry heat, so there is that!

Can't wait for August which is traditionally very humid!!!

Sigh.

I just washed my hair, and can't do a thing with it.

I guess kissing is out of the question as well!

Some random thoughts:

1.  There is an outside possibility that the event yesterday was meant to be "staged" rather than the tragedy it became.

2.  The photo making the rounds is so very much "staged", IMO.

3.  The young man was registered Republican.  So there is that element, and it's not a suprising one to me.

4.  The outrage is a bit much considering none of it was ever expressed when Gabby Giffors was shot or when Gretchen Whitmer was being stalked and targeted for assassination or when Nancy Pelosi's husband was brutally beaten in his home.

5.  I am so very tired of it all.

It would not surprise me if the whole thing, from the Fat Orange Baboon to the assassi, wasn't planned by the RNC, only the assassin was assured nothing would happen to him. I put nothing past this GOP scum.

Many of us have done/seen the play over the years....I played Dr. Dussell the annoying dentist (typecasting) - but it is always an emotional experience.

I saw the movie when it was released (Margot is pronounced with a definite "t" at the end).....and as a ten year old it was a revelation.

I bought the book from the Weekly Reader (anyone else remember that) and still have my dog eared falling apart copy.....it's old just like I am.

She's forgiven me; this morning, she's her affectionate self, and I am very happy about that.

So glad Stella is doing well today.

At the end of the tour is Anne's diary.  We weren't permitted to takes photos of it.  You can imagine the emotion of actually seeing it.
