Network was, oddly enough, my real introduction to William Holden, and I loved him thereafter. It was around then that I really got to know the older films. But I guess that was my introduction to all of them except for Dunaway who I probably first knew in Little Big Man.

What a powerful watershed-type of movie it was that year. I miss those days. Which just made me think of Watergate and All the President's Men. Well, I guess I miss any days before the mess the country is in now. And we thought we had it bad back then? Oh, bring those days back. Please.

   a PP pick up rehearsal.

Probably to re-stage the bows. The LL isn't featured enough.

Is PP an earlier or later version of Phffft, DR Jrand73?  Asking for a friend.

This is Day Two, and the hottest, of this week's three-day heat wave.

I don't have to go out for anything, which is just the way I like it. And yard work and such can WAIT, damn them.

It's also the third week of my friends' Beauty and the Beast at the outdoor theeder, which I have steadfastly put off getting to because of the various hot & humid days and evenings with the threats of rain and thunderstorms. I have a ticket for Thursday night's show, which should be just about perfect. It'll be comfortable being there and seeing it, I get my obligation out of the way, and they'll probably have a fine closing weekend. Everybody wins.

I have had a wonderful night's sleep, although one dream was a "bit" much even for me!

No, Jack, I shall NOT recount it here.

DR freddie, it's possible FFS "could" mean "For Freddie's Sake"!

GYAIG is one I know:  "Get your a** in gear" is what it stands for.  Heard that a lot in boot camp way back in the early days of the dawn of time.

My introduction to Faye Dunaway was 1967's "Bonnie and Clyde".  FWIW, it's the first time I recall seeing Warren Beatty, as well, although he had been around a while.  And, of course, Michael J. Pollard, Estelle Parsons and Gene Wilder were new to me, too.

I have loved many Dunaway appearances, including "Puzzle of a Downfall Child", "The Thomas Crown Affair" and "Mommie Dearest".  Is it just me, or does anyone else think her performance in that film basically halted her career?  There was a great deal of divisive Hollywood rhetoric over the film and her portrayal of Crawford, even though it was very true to Christina Crawford's accounts.

I loved Holden in "Sunset Boulevard" and "Love is a Many-Splendored Thing" among other great performances he gave.'

Boy, am I an idiot. I said Little Big Man for Dunaway, but of course Bonnie and Clyde a couple of years prior to that.

I am mentally gearing myself up for a drive to Aiken and The Fresh Market.  I want some fresh fruit and veggies, plus one or two of their wonderful pizzas for my freezer.

I have been essentially housebound the past four or five days due to extreme heat, but I have A/C and really need to get out and about a bit more.

Another Holden movie I have very much liked is "The 7th Dawn' co-starring JRand's Capucine.  It has a gorgeous score by Riz Ortolani!!

They’re still appreciated and I thank everyone who has sent them for my brother-in-law.  No change there, but the prognosis is not great.  We are not making any new commitments and have alerted the ones we have that our plans could change suddenly.
