I had lunch with Louis Lane around 2002 in Wooster, Ohio, during a trip to the Ohio Light Opera. I cannot remember now if the lunch was just me, Louis Lane. and our host, James Stuart, the founder and director iof the Ohio Light Opera, or if Brece Pomahac was also there. Louis Lane had conducted one or two concerts with the OLO orchestra during the summer for several seasons.

Mr Lane was then in his early 70s and seemed older and rather fragile. I found him happy to talk about himself, but he seemed very effete, extremely snobbish, and completely uninterested in me, which made me wonder why he agreed to join us for lunch. I was happy to meet him because I, liker BK, had several of his recordings through the Columvia Record Club.

I read this THREE times before I understood you were not lunching with Supermans love interest

If you want a contrast to recent Star Spangled Banner performances, pull up a chair and let Aretha Franklin take you to church. Her performance before the Detroit Lions' Thanksgiving game back in 2016 is amazing:

This dropped today. I'm excited, because Adam Gwon's other musical, Ordinary Days, is really special.

I have flown from Louisville to Houston, then to Dallas. They canceled my flight from Dallas to San Antonio. I had two options: Fly to Austin and rent a car or fly to Kansas City, then to SA.

Who was that inept singer who croaked and screamed through the National Anthem? She seemed to me the metaphor for the complete white trailer trash of the current Rethuglican party.

Exactly...shades of Roseanne Barr's performance. :P

Well, this is really cool:

Taco Bell expands 'groundbreaking' program that could set new standard for fast-food packaging: 'It was such a success'

"We decided to take the idea nationwide later that year and share the love beyond our iconic sauce packets, giving a more sustainable option to everyone."

I am mentally gearing myself up for a drive to Aiken and The Fresh Market.  I want some fresh fruit and veggies, plus one or two of their wonderful pizzas for my freezer.

I have been essentially housebound the past four or five days due to extreme heat, but I have A/C and really need to get out and about a bit more.

Enjoy your excursions outside, Ron.  If I want air conditioning, I must go outside and get into my car.  My house has no A/C...but I'm not complaining (a Maltby and Shire reference ;) ).

Boy, am I an idiot. I said Little Big Man for Dunaway, but of course Bonnie and Clyde a couple of years prior to that.
