Well, you've read the notes, the notes were choreographed, and now it is time for you to post until the choreographed cows come home.

But you may stick your lips into the lasagna.

Monday morning greetings from the Central Savannah River Area, town of Johnston, in South Carolina.

It is a mild 74 degrees here.  It's humid, of course.  Rain is expected within the next hour.

Sigh.

I was almost used to it being July when it suddenly became obvious that the month is nearly over.

How is it that time passes so quickly when one is retired?

Beyond that, I have no plans. My original plan was to do the laundry, but I need to be here when/if the plumber shows up.

I believe my favorite choreography of all time remains "The Waiter's Galop" from Hello Dolly! I first saw the number in the national tour with Mary Martin, on Broadway with a not-so-hot Ginger Rogers, and the 1978 and 1995 revivals with Carol Channing. Right along with it, "Who's that Woman?" from Follies and Jerome Robbins' Atlantic City ballet from Higth Button Shoes, which I first saw in Jerome Robbins Broadway and was beautifully recreated in the not-so-hot Encores! production of High Button Shoes.

This is what's wrong with the state of the nation today. If we had only learned what the adult entertainment of the 70s and 80s had taught us, we'd be able to pick up the phone, call the plumber's office, and someone would be there in the next minute or so. Now it's all so damn complicated.

BK - This is a horror story.

Where do people come up with the cojones to treat any material this way? And then to admit to their own untenable legal position by doing what they did with it yesterday? What kind of life lessons did this just teach their students?

I'm sharing this with our producer and director as a (completely unnecessary) cautionary tale. In our region we're likewise used to the occasional prominent person being liable to show up, sometimes even unannounced. And just to pass along inspiration for making the very best of the material - as we tackle the revised version in the fall.

And here in Tumwater, as well!  First time in a while, and it's needed!
