Great answer, Jane! ;D

Being able to text updates to him while I was in the hospital was convenient, his text about the ice cream made me very happy and something to look forward to :)

DR George, the length of time the burning sensation lasts varies.  This morning is wasn't too bad, and only with one drop.  Maybe I am getting used to them.

We have two versions of the entire Microsoft Office suite here at home that are way older than any of you are talking about - so you'll laugh, but here they are (both are Windows versions):

OFFICE 2003.  A friend gave me a hacked install disc many years ago, and it has continued to install and work repeatedly even on the Win10 machines Kristi and Nathan have. (Mine's still a Win7.) She's a writer, she knows Word and Publisher 2003 inside and out, and has never wanted to move on from that version, the last one before Microsoft implemented the "ribbon" style of menus. It includes all the features she needs. Its Word files are ".doc" as opposed to ".docx" which I believe started with...

OFFICE 2007.  When my then-employer was moving the company to OFFICE 2010 or whatever the next major implementation was, they had a deal with Microsoft that employees could purchase our own legitimate copies of 2007 from Microsoft for something like $15 or $20. I was used to that version and jumped at the offer. I still have the special install disc Microsoft sent, and I don't know if there was a limit on number of times I could install it, but it hasn't been any problem yet. I'm an Excel user, and have dabbled in Access, the powerful database program that isn't even available in the Apple world. So, even though most things I do are on a Mac now, I keep a Windows machine for the Microsoft suite and a couple of other Windows-only things, and I have no reason whatever to move on from there.

I'm gonna figure all the eye surgery out and get it done soon.

It seems to me sooner is better than later.  I wish I could have done this years ago, except my cataracts weren't bad enough.

Since you only need reading glasses, for you it might only be a matter of removing the cataracts and you won't need an vision lenses.

I don't think I recall any burning sensation from any of the eye drops related to cataract surgery, either before or after. Mainly, after what seems like WEEKS of doing that repeatedly, it just gets to be a real drag.

DR JOHN G is it Microsoft 365 you are talking about?

It's horrible.  I still can't figure out how to save a document to a folder.....it automatically saves it to The Cloud.....I can find no option.  If I save it as a PDF, I can put it into a folder.  I downloaded an old version of MicroSoft Word that I bought on EBAY, so i don't have to worry about that anymore.

Besides all of the OTHER stuff I hate about it.

COMPUTER VIBES TO YOU!

Good morning.

I thought Tropical Storm Debbie had moved out of the CSRA yesterda, but I was wrong.  We are having more of her today.  Possibly a final whoosh more.

We shall see.

If only you could send some of that to DR Laura.  Vibes you don't have any damage.

Criterion has a new 40-film box set coming out for a mere $650. I already own 21 of the 40 films, many on Criterion, already. Guess I can save my money.

The Fat Slug, spewing 99% lies every time he opens his ugly mouth, is currently giving a press conference or rally. How can the fools he's courting not be sick and tired of hearing the same old same old wherever the loathsome piece of shit shows up?

Where's the damned assassin when you really need him?

Oh good lord.

Okay, out of 40, I count roughly 30 that I have, and only a couple of others I'd really want. A couple of those I have should possibly be upgraded from DVD to BD, but on some films I'm not so picky about that. So... thanks, Criterion, you just saved me a BUNDLE.  :)

The arguments being made by the GOP about Walz's military service are specious.

There is nothing dishonorable about serving 24 years, holding a Command Sergeant Major post for a period, and then opting to leave the service with an honorable discharge.  If Walz OWED any more time to the Army, he would not have been allowed to retire.  Period.

For the record, J.D. Vance, saw no military action.  His service in a war zone was inconsequential and not a danger to his life.   I know.  I had several tours in military war zones, was never in any danger, and don't consider myself more worthy than anyone who never had that service.  Vance is a putz.  Trump is human excrement.  The GOP are filled with both.

Even though Walz never attained the full position of Command Sergeant Major, serving as same for a period grants him the right to claim the title.  All the rest of that argument is pure horse doody.
