Who should play Hester Prynne in a Margaret Atwood-inspired remake of The Scarlet Letter?

There has been much grass cutting in the neighborhood since 7 a.m., and now it is my grass being cut.

My question for ASK BK DAY?  Is there an actor or actress in film or television that you have a hard time understanding when they speak?

For me - there are two actresses from the 60's that I have never been able to figure out  what they are saying:

Claudia Cardinale and Genevieve Page.

I'm not BK (and I have never played him on TV), but I love the Forbidden Broadway spoof of Patti LuPone's diction.

My grass needed cutting, too.  We had a lot of rain over the past week thanks to Tropical Storm Debbie.  (FWIW, it's two hours later here than the time hack on this post)

Are they reading old BK notes, or old message board entries, or old HHW columns, perhaps?  A combination of those?

Hmm, maybe my "Socially Distant" Patti/Sondheim parody-tribute was too respectful to catch on!  (Or maybe it was too soon to try to get laughs from social distancing?)

Ah, I was taking it to the post office tomorrow. I'll hold it until you're back.

Rodzinski, good timing on asking to hold the book until you return.

From DR Rodzinski:

One day I’ll get to see her onstage. My niece is in this one as well.

This would have been a good one to go to.  Hopefully there will be other chances to seem them together in a show.

DR Rodzinski I hope you are flying non-stop from Vancouver.  I like that airport, and non-stop is always the best.

Even though I was probably in high school when I saw it, and more than likely hadn't seen any other gay movie, the fact that these two supposedly gay characters essentially turned straight just bugged the crap out of me! I remember seeing interviews on the daytime talk shows in the '80s where they'd ask gay people if they'd take a pill to be straight, and most said that they would (it was a different time, I know). But I knew even back then that I wouldn't. I may have been in the closet (especially in school) and an introvert, but I absolutely had no problem being gay and had no interest in being turned straight.

I find it interesting/great that considering your challenges, and youth, that you were fine with being different.

It's also a damned good thing it's only Wednesday because I have this big student recital looming this weekend. Lordy, let's not get to that too soon. I've still got work to do on it. Got a lot done yesterday, but there's plenty more.

I'm glad it is Wednesday as I don't want to miss my second cataract surgery tomorrow.

Nice gaslighting, DR ChasSmith!

Speaking of gaslighting, last night BK wrote: "I was reading an article earlier and there was a brief mention that I do not care for page seven."

Maybe this "I do not care for page seven" situation has been a result of some form of internet gaslighting, that unnamed people on the net have been insinuating that BK does not care for page seven as if it were a fact, so BK started to believe it himself?

It's a theory.

We considered moving to Vegas before coming here.  I liked the idea that most of the homes I looked at had swimming pools.

I didn't want to live where there is a draught or that kind of summer heat, still I occasionally think about moving there.
