Mom made it through the night. She's a little more responsive, using an arm to answer yes/no questions. She recognizes people. And she isn't in pain.

A high of only 73 degrees with NO rain is predicted for here....I'll take it.

My cousin Carol & I are going to lunch today.....she gets to pick the location, so I'm not sure what I will be having.

TOD:

I don't go in for horror films very much.  I highly, thoroughly enjoyed "Alien" (in space no one can hear you scream) and "Aliens".

And "Jurassic Park" likely doesn't qualify as horror, but it was more than enough to make me squirm.

I cautiously watched night one of the DNC convention.

I say "cautiously" because I didn't have a clue what to expect, but I wanted to hear some of the speakers.

Happily, it was as engaging as it was uplifting.  So much energy and enthusiasm.  Nancy Pelosi looked virbrant, didn't she!

Hilary was wonderful, Jesse Jackson was on point, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was electrifying.  It was Raphael Warnock, however, who gave the best speech I've heard in many years.

I was getting very sleepy by the time President Biden began, and I didn't last more than 5 minutes into his comments.   Of course, by that time, it was a "we love Joe" fest, so I figured I'd call it a night.

Wow, DR George - I thought you didn't eat fish.

Well, the fish in most fish tacos are breaded and crispy.  I like fish when they're breaded like fish-and-chips fish. ::)

Speaking of horror and slashings, I am back from the dentist.

They were happy with the cleaning, I'm happy to have it over with, and a tooth we've been keeping an eye on will be crowned sometime soon.

I ended up watching the convention until 11:00. At that point, Biden still had not spoken so I went to bed.

Make sure you watch it.  Here's one YouTube link to the whole speech.  Jill's intro is joined in progress:
