We couldn't get a timed pass until 3:00 when it was 96 degrees which turned out bebe OK as we weren't planning on hiking.  The light changes at the end of the day were lovely.

Sunday morning greetings!

I happen to love Jean Smart’s SNL monologue from last night:

I have started listening to Kelly/Carole Bishop's autobiography. The first half is her Broadway career, including Golden Rainbow and Promises, Promises before A Chorus Line. Fun stuff.

The joke about Mayor Adams was sad, though funny.  The whole scandal gives a feeling of NYC being on shaky ground.

"Rose's Turn" is a bitch! The full score often has two different orchestrations of the same material, the bar count between the full score - which seems to have been orchestrated in sections - and the vocal score is often 1-2 bars off, and God knows what's going on at times harmonically. On top of that, I've got Annabelle and stella wanting my attention. I had to take a break.

That is so fascinating. And it's always been a fascinating number anyway. Please tell us more when you, uh, figure it out.  :)

DR GINNY thanks for the link.

As an old cranky man, I forgot that SNL started its new season last night.

A theeder friend I talked to yesterday told me that she had never seen LES MIZ.....but that she saw it this week at the IU Auditorium.

I was astonished that as a theeder goer here & in NYC it was her first time to see it.

She was astounded and LOVED it.....as do so many of us.

Of course as I said my Frances Farmer play seems to be on the trash heap.....but it was fun to have a reading in June and hear it out loud.

I have told Constance - the Artistic Director there if somebody says "OH hell....let's produce SOMETHING".....that she puts it forward.  Being the good egg she is, I'm sure she will.

Certainly a highlight of 2024 for me.
