They don't. The facts are that Fleetwood Mac made a mega-successful album in
Rumours amid conflicts.
Making Rumours is one person's interpretation of these long ago events, cast as the producer's story.
Two recent dramatic works have been inspired by this:
Stereophonic and
Daisy Jones and The Six. Nobody is suing anyone involved with
Daisy Jones because while it's clearly inspired by Fleetwood Mac making
Rumours, it's not telling that story. Even when you can clearly identify which characters are inspired by which band members, the story is different. The relationships are different, the story arcs are different, and the details are different.
Stereophonic on the other hand appears to tell the producer's story in the same way as
Making Rumours, with the same relationships, the same point of view perspective, the same story arc, and many of the same key details.
