I remember when on this day people would talk about where they were when they heard JFK had been shot.

I looked around the office and realized I'm the only one who would have any memories of that day.

Wow.

Used the last of my incandescent night light bulbs.....but I found some on EBAY....the led ones just don't make enough light for me.

I have them in the hallway, the bathroom, and the kitchen so I don't have to turn the lights on if I get up at night.....

....or I guess I should say WHEN I get up at night.

That reminds ME, DR JRand, of this masterpiece. Whatever unknown is performing as “Rusty Canyon” here gives one of the most pleasingly madcap vocal renditions in history.

I went down for the mail and a huge Chewy carton of cat food and treats. I ran into my neighbor Brian who lives in 4A. He helped me pack the items in my walker bag and then took the carton to the basement for me. I am blessed with good neighbors.

DR John G., the NYT has a new project to add to your collection of Chess pie recipes:

Mmm...that looks good!

And speaking of pies, has anyone heard of Texas Pecan Pie?

Pecan pie before corn syrup* with a custardy filling and lots of pecan flavor, topped with toasted meringue

I highly recommend clicking on the "Watch the Episode" link for the YouTube video history lesson. :)

The history of pecans from pre-Columbian indigenous peoples to the invention of Karo corn syrup, and a recipe for pecan pie before Karo

The sheetrock got finished and now we're in the middle of a couple of days painting. The place is an unholy mess. It will be so good when this is done.

I'm gonna head out shortly - bank, mail place, and then bringing something home to eat - perhaps Gelson's, depending on how I'm feeling.

Maybe I need to explain my Acme ad since Keith had no clue to why it is funny.

Some idiot actually paid $6.2 million for a banana duct-taped to a wall that was sold as "art".
