I have, apparently, had sufficient sleep since I've been awake since about 4:30 a.m.
Nothing particularly on my mind other than a hot cup of coffee and gathering things together for my drive northward with Sharon Wall and Butch Bledsoe, the latter being my first cousin and the former being his longtime fiancee (they don't plan on marrying. Both have been, Butch twice. They are happy as they are, so that's what matters).
We are going to the home of Butch's daughter Ashley, where she lives with her husband Clay and her son (by another marriage) Anderson. Clay has three sons, also from a former marriage, and they will all be there with girl friends and guy friends, as well.
Such fun! A 90-minute drive starting at 10 a.m., and a 90-monute return starting at 3 p.m. Oh, yes: It will take me 30 additional minutes to drive to Sharon's house and 30 minutes to drive home afterward.
Long day, lots of travel, great food, convivial company...and a weekend in which recovery will be mandatory.
And, oh, joy! I have a Monday colonoscopy, the preparation for which begins Friday (with eating only soft or liquid foods) and the mandatory nasty prep liquid starting Sunday afternoon.
I can top that with a Tuesday two-week cataract surgery post-op visit and can crown it with a Wednesday medical appointment in Aiken.
Outside of my Dec. 12th cataract surgery for my left eye, that should be IT for the year.
