Well, you've read the notes, the notes bid a fond farewell to November, and now it is time for you to post until the last of November cows come home.

Topic of the Day:  I'm quite the homebody and my family is close, so no traveling for me.  I also have no parties planned.  We get together on Christmas eve at my mom's and Christmas day at my sister's.  Pretty simple. :)

TOD:

I have no idea what the hollies will bring other than spending Christmas Eve with cousins in Edgefield.

The Johnston Tree Lighting is either tonight or tomorrow evening.  I will make sure to avoid town during that.

My holidays are all marked with medical events, actually.  My Monday colonoscopy, a couple of other appointments Tuesday and Thursday and then the second cataract surgery on the 12th.

I usually make a few rounds the week of Christmas spreading a bit of Santa cheer to folks who help make life tolerable in town...the postal staff, the folks at the "Don't-Be-A-Square-Eat-At-THE TRIANGLE", and the staff at Third Generation.   I make sure I have sufficient bags of goodies to hand out, with much left over, unavoidably, to tempt me into the  New Year.

After careful reflection and a bit of research, I am delighted to tell you that I was able to expand my food intake yesterday.  I had chicken and dumplings for lunch, and they were delish.  For supper, I had tuna.

My restrictions through tonight are no red meats, no vegetables and no salad (i.e., anything raw).

Tomorrow is the diet of clear liquids (avoiding anything red) and the awful concoction one must drink until it's gone.  And, of course, the necessity of being near the necessary at all times during that.

Yesterday was a very non-productive post-Thanksgiving Friday.  I did little of anything, and, in fact, I feel like I am preparing for some awful event I don't want to attend.

Hopefully, all will be well after Monday morning, and I pray that will by the last such invasive procedure I will have for some years to come.

But, enough already!

It is 23 degrees outside!  Holy smokes!  From mid-fifties to mid-twenties in a 24-hour period.

I don't even want to stick my head out the door.

TOD Redux:

Oh, yes!  I am quite certain Christmas Day will find a nice number of phone calls from out-of-state relatives.  Since our reunion in late June, we have stayed more closely in touch!

You've gotta make your own kind of music.

I've always rather liked the Barbra Streisand medley of "Sing" and "Make Your Own Kind of Music" from "Barbra Streisand and other musical instruments"

It wasn't a great night of sleep, but Annabelle and Thatch snuggled up with me and we were toasty warm through what may the chilliest night so far. I've warned them it will get worse by New Year's Eve.

I'm moving very slowly this morning. I wanted to sleep late and cuddle with the cats, but they had other plans.

I have no plans beyond surviving the holidays. I need work, although it's my experience that no one gets an offer between Thanksgiving and Jan. 1. I originally hoped, when Annabelle & Thatch was on the fall schedule, that I would have the book to give as Chgristmas gifts, then I was hoping we might see the CD of Moonshine and Mistletoe by now, so I have no thoughts currently on Christmas gifts, except a wish that some friend might win the lottery bigtime and offer me a couple of million dollars to record Jubilee and Babes in Toyland.
