I slept rather well. Stella took up most of the bed and the room was too warm for all the blankets I was under.

This year was the first Thanksgiving since my infancy that I had zero turkey. You’re welcome, turkeys.

I am having significant shoulder pain since Thursday. Hoping it just kinda goes away. Was able to get a tree and get it decorated. But I can’t do any lights outside yet.

I had a most peculiar dream: a former teacher and I went to visit DR John G, who was living in Manhattan, and a very young Madeline Kahn, looking no more than 20 years old, was there. The apartment was small; there was a bathtub in the living area, and I was looking at magazines as well as the sunday NY Times Book Review. Madeline was telling us how much she hated Hollywood and how shew only wanted to work on the stage and take classes. I wanted to ask her about her operatic training when I woke.

As to the former teacher, I don't know who she was!

Lil Rodzette is funny. She sits at the tree and plays with the ornaments just as I did when I was a kid. You can ask her about any ornament and she knows its location and history.

DR Jeanne, your CD inquiry raises a lot of questions: what kind of music does your friend like? classical orchestral? classical vocal? any particular composer or singer?crossover? pop? jazz? country? holiday? show tunes?

I'd be very happy to suggest a few things, but I need more help from you.

It would be great to hang out with Madeline Kahn.

I spent a week with her at the Brroklyn Academy of Music around 1988. She was great, but others like Chris Walken and Bob Dylan were too weird.

Was it a rent-controlled apartment? Have you got a place in mind? I can start crating books.

I googled the Brooklyn Academy of Music Gershwein Celebration; it was 1987. It was a gala night, for which I was one of Michael Tilson Thomas' assistants, followed by a run of wonderful concert performances of Of Thee I Sing and Let Then Eat Cake. I only worked on the gala, which included the following artists: Chita Rivera, Julia Migenes, Madeline Kahn, Maureen McGovern, Rosemary Clooney, Greg Burge, Larry Kert, Bob Dylan, Christopher walken, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Leonard Bernstein, and Johnny Green. I'm sure I've forgotten someone important.

It was a great experience, and besides being a bit of a zoo, it was a wonderful concert.

I adored her. Her vocals in On the Twentieth Century were incredible.

Nice. Is that the gala that led to the recordings?

I searched online at the time the obituary was published, but couldn't find anything.
