Finally got the doctor's notes on my bloodwork - the ONLY thing that's near being problematic is the danger of heart attack or stroke and mostly due to weight and diet - so, the obvious suggestion is lifestyle changes - some exercise, lower carbs, way back on sugar, more fiber - so, I'll start doing that now slowly, but really start in the New Year. Everything else is really good - including low risk of prostate cancer.

Then Uber home. I'm not really understanding why my insurance did not cover rental cars for this kind of thing.

Richard and I celebrated my birthday yesterday by seeing WICKED for my second time and his first.  Then we picked up dessert from The Cheesecake Factory and came home to eat some leftovers for dinner.

That sounds like a fabulous celebration!

Is it too late to ask the insurance company about it?

I have some personal work to begin today, and I suspect it will go on for several days. At 2:00 I'm having a FaceTime visit with one of my theatre professors in grad school. He's a big musical theatre fan, and in 1970 he lent me a reel to reel tape of a show he loved, The Sap of Life.

When Kritzerland released the recording on CD, I sent him a Facebook message about the release, and he ordered it. He's now 81, and we've been visiting on FaceTime ever since.

That's great, Larry!

And of course I cannot drink any water this morning.  So I am parched.

That is always difficult.  I at least get a sip for my medication.

This time tomorrow, I shall be on the verge of being eyeglass-free for the first time in 60-plus years!  I get cataract surgery on my left eye, and I can hardly wait!

Actually, I have been functioning without my glasses since the second day of my first surgery except when i want to read something in regular print or smaller (like pill bottles and cooking instructions on frozen foods).

I expect I may need to own a pair of reading glasses regardless of my improved eyesight, but it won't be a daily thing.  The doctor said I wouldn't have the sharp vision I had as a teenager, but I corrected him by saying I never had sharp vision as a teen!!  Still, I am paying (almost through the nose) for the best lens they have in order to live glasses-free, including when I read books, etc.

Yay, and does this mean you got the progressive lenses that I couldn't have?

Back from the doctor. Despite not having been examined for more years than I care to reveal, my eyes are in good shape. The prescription has changed hardly at all.

Wow and congrats!
