Monday evening greetings!  I have made peace with our decision to stay home this week.  We picked up a huge Kroger order and I’ve started preparing some of our favorite holiday dishes.  Meanwhile, Rob and Mary Linda are kindly sending frequent photos of what we’re missing at their house.

That's wonderful, DR Ginny! What time should we be dropping by?

You’re always welcome, DR ChasSmith, but I should warn you that one of those items is lemon lime Jello cottage cheese surprise.

Well, the comedy of errors continues. The thing was sent to the supervisor for approval at eight-thirty. The supervisor apparently didn't get it or couldn't see it, and then she was gone for the day. So, I've been promised that if it's not here when I get up in the morning, she'll follow up and get it done. So, another day goes by and I am now really up against it in terms of getting to the bank and still being able to cook and do stuff I need to do. If it's here and I'm up by ten, then it will be okay. Later than that is going to be a real problem and I don't even know if the bank closes early.

I did get one bit of good news this morning: John Wilson sent me a thank you for his Christmas card. He's recording in the spring the new edition of Guys and Dolls that Jason Buell and I co-edited in 2017.

That's very exciting!!

There seem to be an inordinate amount of cakes, pies, and other delicacies emerging from the kitchen of DR John G.

I just returned from what I hope is my last medical appointment of 2024. I need to have a little surgery and have been waiting to see the surgeon since last spring. My appointments have been cancelled, the rescheduled repeatedly. I was scheduled to see him tomorrow, Christmas Eve, but the office called this morning and asked me to come in today. Finally! I am now off until Jan 3rd — and need every bit if it.
