So let me take this opportunity to wish you all a most blessed Christmas and joyous Hanukkah.

The same to you, old lady! I am so happy you were not more seriously injured.

Although my right ankle certainly had a few things to say about the incident

Vibes it is just twisted and will be fine in a few hours.

So naturally I turned to look out the window to see who else had fallen

I laughed so hard and then shared this with Keith.  We are not old :))

I would have rather been baking cookies with inattentive neighborhood children

I'm sure.

Vixmom, wires from them take three days - what we did for the first payment is the option that it goes right onto your debit card - that's instant and it hit my bank literally forty seconds later. HOW we do it isn't the problem, the problem is their payment system is down - no one can get anything until they fix it and it's working properly.

I whipped up another double batch of thumbprint cookies in about half the time it took them to make one.

It was drizzling. I really hope it doesn't rain tonight - wouldn't THAT be a kick in the pants, considering there hasn't been a drop of rain in eight MONTHS.

For some odd reason, I am watching Hocus-Pocus, which I have never seen before. I don’t like it. But I am older than 14, which seems to be the target audience.

My niece loved that movie...and Bette's Big Business.  She watched B's BB so often that she actually wore out four, count 'em, FOUR VHS copies!

I loved Bette and Lily Tomlin in Big Business.

That movie was where I first heard the term "Eurotrash." ;)

The children went home with about 10 of the leftover cookies from church (the colorful ones), six gingerbread men and a piping bag of icing to decorate them, and a dozen thumbprint cookies (at least the ones they didn't eat when they were here).

The Nonna, (who is about five years older than my own kids) came over and gave me a hug for having the children over. She doesn't bake, but her daughters (one of whom is the mother of said children) is learning how to.

Vixmom, I'm glad you didn't break anything. That's something I always worry about. One bad fall can change the lives of us Old Ladies.

Jane, congratulations on your brand new HHW posting millstone!

Thank you.  I attempted to post a photo of it but couldn't.
