DR George, considering that your niece has chickens, I am surprised that your sister buys eggs at Costco.  I expected her to only purchase eggs from pasture fed chickens.

Costco does sell pasture-raised eggs, so she doesn't have to compromise anymore. :)

Good to know, not that I ever buy that many at once.

Greetings from Kenmore, NY (Buffalo suburb)!  It'll be a White Christmas this year but there's only a few inches on the ground, which is good.

It’s supposed to reach 80 today with thunderstorms in store.

This morning I realized that I had not renewed a couple of prescriptions.  I'm glad I noticed before running out.

DR Elmore, pardon me for laughing, but I can picture you roaming the halls imitating Stanley Kowakski:

DR CharlesSmith, that City Ballet Nutcracker recording has a glitch: the Christmas tree-Battle with Mice sequence plays twice.

Whoa! What the...??

Thanks, I'll be checking that out in a couple of days.

For some odd reason, I am watching Hocus-Pocus, which I have never seen before. I don’t like it. But I am older than 14, which seems to be the target audience.

Got a text at 7:45 - yep, payment system is DOWN - I cannot imagine that I was the only one going berserk yesterday.

She cancelled the check thing, so that's good, and she said she'd reissue the payment link as soon as she can, I guess - IF they fix it.

Unfortunately, short bank hours today - until two. So, if I don't have the dough by say twelve-thirty, I can't get there in time to transfer into the account from which I wrote the check.

And in new news, the basement fridge has died.

Which actually is fine by us, because we rarely use it these days and older fridges suck up the wattage like nobody's business. I went down to throw one thing in the freezer, opened the door, and a rush of warm air -- actually, make that warm, SMELLY air -- rushed out at me. The motor was still running, but we figure the cooling system shat the bed about a month ago. There were a few things in it that were probably on the verge of growing limbs and walking right out of there.

This was a full size refrigerator I brought home when we closed our office in 2002 and I began working from home. There was lots of good stuff we were allowed to take. It was wonderful for a while, having the extra storage, but we just no longer need it. And once we get it out of here, we can sure use the space.

My niece loved that movie...and Bette's Big Business.  She watched B's BB so often that she actually wore out four, count 'em, FOUR VHS copies!

I know.  We are trying to buy them before the end of the year and the price increase, problem is we are having trouble getting someone out to let us know if we can fit them into our current spaces.

Groan.

Have you spoken to the dealership?  Maybe they are fine and unconcerned about waiting until the 26th.

I don't think they'll fix whatever's wrong with their payment system today - that's my gut feeling. I think it will be Thursday. Meanwhile, we've narrowly avoided the car check - and I've called them and told them they can cash it.
