It’s like BK said, you can’t lower your guard for a moment. I order some records at frankly absurdly low prices from a link George provided. Immediately after placing the order, my Spidey senses tingle. Why not before I placed the order? Well they very cleverly had a timer on my cart and I’d lose my “deals.”
I look up the Big Lots thing on the web and what comes up is a record discussion where people are saying that can’t be legit. The other thing that comes up are posts about people posting these fake Big Lots sales on the web and people getting ripped off.
Quickly I call my bank and close that card and they are sending me a new one. Ok, minimizing damage.
What do I get today? Two calls from my bank trying to verify info from me. Takes me a minute on the first one to get suspicious, but I hang up. Call bank and they say, well, it’s one of our numbers. No action is required by you.
Just get another call, this one less professional, could barely pronounce the bank name. Gets a little snippy with me. I call my actual bank fraud number, and this time they’re like, yeah, people do spoof our number. So now I don’t know if they have even more of my info.
Can’t damn win.
