I'm sorry to learn about Linda Lavin's passing. Around 1999, Symphony Space's Wall to Wall composer was Frank Loesser, and Jo Loesser asked me to work with Margaret Whiting and Linda to help them decide what they wanted to perform at the evening closing concert with orchestra conducted by Eliot Lawrence. This led to two interesting sessions with each lady. Margaret was indecisive and decided she would let her husband, porn star Jack Wrangler, decide, and Linda decided on "I Wish I Didn't Love You So," and we spent a good hour or two working up the arrangement I would orchestrate.
The concert was in late May, I think. and after it was over, Luinda called and invited me to her Tony Awards party in June. After that, she called me from her Florida home to tell me that she was sending me something. The something never arrived, and I never heard from her again.
