I was in a plane that did an emergency landing at O'Hare once. There was some smoke in the cabin, so we turned around and went back to Chicago.  It was scary, but the REAL scare came when we were the only plane landing in Chicago and the runway was lined with firetrucks!

United gave us a whopping $20 off our next flight.

WOW! CNN has Captain Al Haynes! He's the guy who did the cartwheel landing in Sioux City on United Flight 232 when the hydrolics went out.  I thought of that immediately. There were tons of survivors.

DR Cillaliz,
Pretty monarch butterfly!
I have ONLY one black swallowtail butterfly in my garden every year. I have no idea for sure if it migrates from somewhere or it’s born(incubate?) and lays eggs in a same point in my tiny garden annually. Actually it comes flying to same flowers, Agapantbus.
And I, too, agree about the pins.

I got that SWEENEY TODD circular in the mail as well. I did not like Patti in the televised concert AT ALL, so the circular went directly into the trash.

DR George, you and DR Rodzinski are in the majority about THE OFFICE. Its audience dropped about 50% from the audience tuned it to MY NAME IS EARL.

I laughed several times during the show and thoroughly enjoyed it. Comedy is such an individual thing, and obviously this hits something in me that it doesn't in others.

I have a feeling SCRUBS will be back in two weeks to fill this spot. NBC won't stand for that kind of rating erosion from one half hour to the next.

LOST tonight was a thing of beauty. Grandly suspenseful, funny, tear-inducing, and, naturally, perplexing as new mysteries are uncovered as soon as old ones are solved.

LAW & ORDER was also an outstanding program tonight. As usual with this show. it took a fairly mundane-seeming crime (kidnapping) and put a spin on it so that a decision had to be made that was damned-if-you-do; damned-if-you-dont, and let matters play themselves out.

No show has ever set up such conundrums with such expertise as LAW & ORDER.

I also started watching the Americanized version of SHALL WE DANCE. Based on the first 45 minutes or so, charming.

I thought about DR JRand today when I saw the list of DVD releases for next week:

WE'RE NO ANGELS with Humphrey Bogart. How ironic it becomes available the week after your version is over. Now, you can have it with you always.

Yes, I think it's probably coming out in self-defense.  ;D
