I am aware that I do not employ a personal trainer.
Which is why I look like a cream puff.

I'm in shape...round is a shape! ;)

LOL!

Wow George, that was terrible service at Applebees.

I know!  Normally, it's rare that that happens, but to have it happen to one person the three times she comes to a place?  That's completely unacceptable!

I am wondering if the waiter did not want the manager to know about forgetting to serve the food on time.

I don't know.  They didn't deserve the chance to give an excuse.

The relationships seem very well drawn
as if they had the arc of the series well in hand from the beginning

I remember reading (at the time) that the two lead actors did not get along. ::)

Interesting!

I was literally about to post this last night to finish my Applebee's story:

And the real kicker is that Shelly ate her chicken broccoli Alfredo dish after coming home...and it gave her diarrhea!!

Oh no!  I would never go back there.

I know Shelly won't go back, but I've still got a balance on the gift card, so maybe I'll just order something to go to use it up...or I can go to the Lacey Applebee's.  This all happened at the west Olympia location.

Today's Big Ass Salad: Meatball salad with Meyer lemon and cilantro dressing.

Not sure about the combination. How was it?

Guess who else brought in the New Year by enjoying ill health?

And who's got the POSITIVE TEST RESULT to prove it?

Nathan.

He'd been to NJ to visit his mom and other family, got back on New Year's Eve, and immediately started feeling crappy. Yesterday he just kept feeling crappier during the TZ marathon, and decided to test. The other two of us are FINE, thankyouverymuch, and he's starting to feel a little better today, but it looks like he'll get to miss some work. Which he won't mind doing at all.

~~~Quick Recovery Vibes for Nathan!!~~~
I was reading Thomas Z Shepard's book last night and happened to get to the section on the Company cast recording, coinciding with DR John G.'s viewing of same.
The Spirit of St. Louis was really good on many levels. But when it was over I realized something that didn't quite ring true. Lindbergh's flight was a highlight of the Jazz Age. Yet nothing about the movie, especially the otherwise great Franz Waxman score suggests jazz or the Roaring 20s.
He doesn't like the documentary, doesn't feel he comes off well in it, and feels it added unnecessary stress to the day. However, in the end, he's glad it gives a glimpse into the process of what he does.
In the commentary, Elaine Stritch talks about the perfectionists at work there. He is obviously one of the perfectionists. But his criticism can be withering. And Sondheim does cast Shepard as the bad guy, which, as the producer, he is by default.
Mad About the Boy, a documentary about Noel Coward, has some fascinating footage in it. There are audio excerpts of Gertrude Lawrence and hm in Private Lives. Wonderful.
Their system was down so I had to deposit the cash in the ATM but it worked fine and credited immediately.
Then I began futzing and finessing - got about six pages done when the computer began acting like it was going to crash. I think everything got saved okay, so I'm going to just force quit and shut it down before it actually freezes up, which is what it did as I was writing a new sentence.
