Here's another question o' the day for anyone who'd like to jump in, and this one's kind of wide open:
What would you say are the "essential" World War II movies? The ones that are not only well made (however you wish to define that), but which have something essential to say and/or portray about the war. They can be famous ones from the forties or fifties, or more contemporary ones that look back from a later vantage point. I'm all ears.
