As of this morning the Palisades fire was 8% contained, which doesn’t sound like much, but I read that they secured the perimeter, so at least. It shouldn’t spread. I hope that’s the case.

I’ve gotten little done today. I can’t tear myself away from the news reports. I guess a huge fire on your doorstep will do that to you.

Yes, progress despite all the criticism of the mayor, the governor, and the anti-California attitude of some. Interesting video on the NYT today, mentioning all the efforts California has made to fire-proof the communities.

That will do it. I remember being glued to the tv and watching the Bel-Air fire with my best friend. I never imagined a worst fire. I believe that was in 1961.

I read today that Pacific Palisades was not aggressive about enforcing regulations to clear brush to protect from fires. Do you know anything about that?
