Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of an unexpected writing gift, and now it is time for you to post until the unexpected cows come home.

I have dipped water out of both kitchen sinks and am boiling water as suggested by DR JEANNE.  We shall see what happens.

Well, fellow HHW'ers.

DR JEANNE's sound advice worked like a charm.  As I said, I dipped the standing water from both sinks.

I poured a spaghetti cooker full of boiling water in the sink with the main drain.  And waited....but not even 5 minutes.  And the drain was working like crazy.

Just for insurance, I did it twice more.

DR JEANNE saved me probably $200 or more!  I highly recommend the technique to anyone who has a similar problem.

I think my vaccine reaction is a thing of the past. After I posted yesterday afternoon, I went back to bed, w3atched some TV and read a bit. All three cats were in bed with me, and around 7:30 I turned off the lights. I awoke around 11:30 for a bathroom break, and another around 3:00. Some time around 5:00 I decided it was time to get up, but Thatch and Annabelle wanted to cuddle, so we lazed around until 6:00 when I finally started moving.

I feel so much better than yestertday, and I have a bit of tidying up to do. I have an afternoon bath, which I dread because of my fear of falling and seriously injuring myself, and I miss the days when I was more agile and steady and baths were not treacherous situations to be avoided.

Several days ago, thinking it was an adaptation of Edith Wharton or another late 19th century novelist, I began watching on Amazon Prime a BBC series, Aristocrats, based on a Stella Tillyard biography of the Lennox sisters, whose grandfather was the Duke(?) of Richmond at the court of King George II. I gave the ode a try and decided to stay with it. I had finished Season 1 of Merecy Street, only to find that Amazon Prime was not showing Season 2 for free, and I cannot afford to pay for it. I can barely pay for food for myself and the cats these days.
