Freddie, there were a few times that you and I replied to each other. 😊
Hope it was always friendly! Did we ever chat about Sondheim in the Times comments?
Always friendly!
I know that there was a comment that I made that was published on the date that Sondheim passed away, where you and another reader responded.
I stopped submitting comments after several unpleasant altercations regarding the October 7 massacre in Israel. I am the daughter of Holocaust survivors, and many of my surviving relatives live in Israel.

My dad is also a Holocaust survivor, and my Mom is a Holocaust refugee (got out of Germany on a boat at age 8 but lost her family in Germany). That's why I feel it's even more treacherous that my brother and his wife (the Macbeths of Cranford NJ) destroyed our family over control of our parents' estate. Their lawyers destroyed a Holocaust family Hitler couldn't destroy; I sincerely hope their lawyers are proud of being Hitler's clean-up squad.
Iris, I am pretty surprised the Times comment moderators let the back and forth get to such a level, to the level of an altercation. The Times comment moderators are usually more careful than that, aren't they?
But why let it stop you from posting comments in Theater or Metro about other topics?
