I completely missed a good millstone of my own, but like I always say, I never think to watch those things.

Yesterday I avoided all but - literally - two or three minutes of the proceedings.
In the evening, following a kind soul's links, I saw:

1. The prerecorded tracks fiasco and resulting awkwardness among everyone there, for Carrie Underwood's, um, song. That was nice.

2. The taking of the oath of office, with what looked like a hasty retreat of the individual toting two (2) bibles over, only to be unseen and ignored. Did I misinterpret what was supposed to happen there? Shouldn't the justice have helped by saying "please place your hand... (blah blah blah)"?

I pretty much get my news from a friend who texts it to me, or late night tv. That's enough for me.

Doing a load of laundry.

Soon I must start puttering and straightening up some things. I'm in a little throwing-out binge of my own. It's never enough, but one must do whatever one can.

TOD:

Conclave was good fun that stayed with me.

Megalopolis was absolutely beautiful to look at. I would like to see it nominated in those areas.

Cillian Murphy gave a better performance in Small Things Like These than he did in Oppenheimer, but nobody saw it.

I'd really like to see Sing Sing and Emilia Perez. I don't know if I could sit through Nickel Boys; the book was disturbing.

Was it Singdaw who found out he'd been signed up to follow Trump? How did you find that out?

DR Laura, go to Facebook and find "President Donald J Trump" page. If you are told you are now following him, block the page. Same with "Vice President JD Vance."

I was afraid of searching for those key words, for fear Facebook will now pester me relentlessly. But I did, and and everything was ok. At least for now.

Started listening to a fun culinary murder mystery called Knife Skills for Beginners. Our charming narrator is a gay chef who hasn’t achieved the fame of his mentor, a TV chef who ends up dead. It’s set in the Belgravia section of London.
