I sit here at my laptop on a Saturday morning.  It is very cold, but there is the most ghastly squabble from a gaggle of geese out on the pond.

One wonders, as one does, I suppose, what it is that gets them into such a state.  Simple souls.

I do not know where this month has gone.

I do know, however, that I have a new CPAP in my future.  I did a sleep study a while back and got my consultation and results yesterday.

It was a miserable night, the night of sleep study, and my misery was reflected in the results. Sleep Apnea is part of who I am, for the rest of my life, and it's incumbent upon me to alleviate the problem with a new machine. The machine I have is 10 years old and is considered "ancient", apparently.  Oh, well.  Like me....

I had a passing thought yesterday about an Alexander Pope poem that had inspired the title of a novel and movie of that novel.  DR JRand will know what I mean since my memory of a past discussion herein involved him:

Wise wretch! With pleasures too refin'd to please
With too much spirit to e'er be at ease
You purchase pain with all that joy can give
And die of nothing but a rage to live.

I was looking at DR GEORGE's list from last night.

I guess I won't be able to buy any new underwear until 2029.

My health insurance covers a new C-PAP machine every five years. I guess that's their expected lifespan.

Maybe that inspired JRB to write that musical.

The description of the movie from imdb sounds complicated.

"A Rage to Live"
It’s a hot soap from ’65, when movies promised raging passion but delivered cheap teases and hypocritical judgments. It’s Suzanne Pleshette’s only starring role, but it doesn’t exploit her bright personality, her sense of humor. John O’Hara’s tale hasn’t much pity for a promiscuous young wife who breaks the rules. Does nymphomania make her a social menace, or is she victimized by a script determined to put the blame on Mame?

The full name for the CPAP sounds much more user-friendly than saying CPAP!
Continuous Positive Airway Pressure sounds very pleasant somehow.  CPAP doesn't.

I have received emails from both Baskin Robbins and See's Candy celebrating peanut butter day.

FYI:

While I am very sorry to see Baskin Robbins on the list, the stores are also franchised as are the smaller ACE Hardware stores.

The list is very sad.
