From DR John:

Quote
Jane, I'm listening to an interesting food memoir called How to Share an Egg, by Bonny Reichert. A chef-writer is trying to find her way in the world and in her family. Her father is a concentration camp survivor. They have a strong relationship that is great at times, tested at others.

This sounds interesting because of the connection with her father, and I gather about the difficulties of being a child of a camp survivor.

Just got a call from my dentist's office. My hygienist called in sick today, so my appointment is cancelled. I was offered the next available date - in late March.

Groan.  I have had longer delays when something happened.

That doctor's appointment thing happened to me with my ophthalmologist. She was sick or had family business or something. As I recall, the cancelled appointment was in March and the first available date they gave me was August. But that office is always that busy, as I was to discover later when *I* needed to reschedule one. If these postponements hadn't happened, I probably would have had the surgeries several months earlier than I did.

I was extremely lucky that my ophthalmologist had covid inbetween my pre-op appointment and my surgery.

Your story is near identical to mine, Chas. As for DD, few doses of antibiotics so far have helped. And did not make her sick! Her appetite returned by end of yesterday. Still said there was some pain, but slept through the night (with me beside her). Keeping her home from school today.

I'm glad she is improving.

I half-jokingly suggested that to my sister.  We'd have to coordinate everything, if we do it.

I listened to Drat! The Cat! straight through yesterday. It had been several years since I'd heard it, and it was a pleasure.

I was following the score I've had here from some long-ago capture on the internet, from way back when I first started finding scores online. What an interesting hodge-podge it is, both in style of manuscript and in how much musical information is given (or not) in each style. I'd be fascinated to know who did the various sections, and how that all came about, if BK or DR Elmore happens to know.

I (note to self:  third consecutive paragraph starting with 'I'?) am also taken with the liner note by Ira Levin, as to that notebook he couldn't find, which was practically a diary of the show's conception and birthing pains. Did that notebook ever see the light of day in the intervening years? What a goldmine. Hell, I still agonize over my high school senior year diary that was lost decades ago. And who in the world cares about that? Only I. But Ira Levin's show diary???
