I made Chicken Veracruz once, just on a whim from browsing through a book, and loved that olives/capers combination. Wait, I've made it with something other than chicken, too. Don't remember now. But thank you for the reminder.

It took 40 minutes to walk home from the car place. I get the car back around noon Thursday.

Huevos rancheros, fried eggs topped with a spicy tomato sauce, are a favorite.

A breakfast taco in a homemade tortilla is an everyday delight. The best is a pork chop taco, with the pork chop whole, bone included, wrapped in a steaming hot corn tortilla.

You wanna know something I've never eaten, though? You'll laugh. I've never tried one.

Which is probably like admitting in a Chinese food discussion that you never had chop suey.

Oh wait.

When I got out of bed this morning and the cats came running to greet me, I noticed that Stella's back was slightly damp. I was curious but not too much, and I forgot all about it. Then, at kitty cleanup Annabelle was sitting in the tub bitching at me. She usually does this when the litter box needs cleaning and she needs it. So, I cleaned up the litter, and she used it. When I was brushing my teeth, I glanced in the tub, and half of bottom had water from a clogged drain.

WTF, I thought. The plumbers were here last month, and it seemed to be draining after my bath yesterday. So, I got the plunger. poured half a bottle of a strong drain cleaner down the drain, finished the kitchen cleanup, took the trash to the basement, and when I returned, the tub was empty. I rinsed it out, and hopefully, the cats can play safely in the tub without poisoning themselves.

I do need a plumber again.

It has to be true - he's too stupid to figure out all of these things he is doing.  Someone with an agenda is behind it all.

And YOU know he's being paid billions of dollars to do his nefarious, illegal, and unconstitutional things.

I went back and redid my taxes and the "owed" total was less than 1/3 what it had been.

Some of my figures were in the wrong place....story of my life.

Currently I have just under two dozen eggs in the fridge.  I watch for long experation dates and the best price possible.  Since I only purchase pasture fed eggs they are often more difficult to find.

They can be so wonderful. On the two-mile trek home this morning, I passed two tamal makers. I was sorely tempted to drop in one.

Costco was down to brown eggs only on Friday, I was told.
