Originally, I was going to visit her before I went downtown to work concessions, and then I would run a couple of errands then stay tonight so that Henry wasn't alone, and maybe we'd find out when she would be able to leave the hospital.

But as I was on my way to the hospital, I got the call that she was going to be released and could I go to her house and get ready whatever I could do!

I filled the outside bird feeders, I changed Henry's food and water, and a few other things that I can't remember.

And then not too long after I got there, my sister drove up and we got her in the house!

She's able to walk with either a cane or the walker, and she can sit and stand, but she's just not supposed bend over too far.

Other than the general surgery pain (lessened with pain meds), she feels really good!

She also knows that just because she might feel "okay enough," she can't do everything that she used to do at least until she's really feeling a lot better.

The doctors require that she have someone with her 24 hours for the first week, so I'm taking the first couple of overnight shifts, and my sister will get here in the morning to take over.

My niece will take some nights, and my friend Shelly (who had worked in hospitals for more than 40 years) has offered to take a night or two.
