Vixmom, this was one of those (wonderful) rare instances in which the storm was to the south of us, and we got:  nothing!

That's great.

Back from errand. We're gonna announce the new book tomorrow or Friday, as soon as we can get the page up for ordering, although I may just announce it anyway, just to let everyone know what it is.

Looking forward to your announcement!

Rodzinski I expect your border town to be different considering children there go to school in Canada.

Lot of dual citizens here and Canadians who depend on coming here for cheaper package delivery. A few ornery crackpots, but this is the rare rural but left-leaning community.

Is that packages from the US or around the world?

Mostly America, I’d say.

I guess if they are ordering less from us they won't need to pick up as many packages.  Fingers crossed they still go for gas.

There is not an easy way to reduce the size of a photo before sending.  What I do then is take a snapshot of the photo and crop it.  It then gives me the option to make it smaller before sending.

While the photo might not be as sharp as I like, it is easy and works.

My problem is, after I send it to my email it never arrives.  I have no idea where it has gone.

My ice cream was very hard.  I've moved it from the bottom shelf of the freezer to the less convenient top drawer.  Hopefully it will be easier to scoop from now on.

Already I can notice the carrots are staying fresh instead of going floppy after a day or two.

Alison Martino (a.k.a. "Vintage Los Angeles" on FB) posted a couple of postcards of the Skytrails Restaurant & Bar at Van Nuys Airport back in the day. I posted that I think I have another image of it, and when I find it, I'll post it later. So, since it was bugging me that I couldn't just put my finger on it, I went off on a hunt that took me to three or four likely places it could possibly be. And wouldn't you know it, one of those places revealed something I'd been torturing myself looking for over the past few MONTHS, an absolutely joyous discovery. But then wouldn't you know it, that thing in turn sent me off in another direction for something else that had also been on my mind, and I eventually found that stuff. But along the way, I spotted a little stack of things I'd been putting off going through for the past few YEARS, so I set that on my desk to look through as soon as I was done with the everything else. I finally got to that, and in so doing, discovered something I'd been thinking was lost YEARS AGO, which, along with a few other little goodies in that stack, totally made my afternoon. It was a heady couple of hours, I can assure you, and I even got to put off some musical stuff I absolutely have to do. So the hell with it, I'll get to that tomorrow.

The only bad thing? I still haven't found the very first thing I went looking for.

But hope reigns eternal. Right?

That's fabulous, Chas!

When I was in my twenties, when we attended a wedding, my old relatives used to elbow me and laugh and say: "You're next!"

So I started doing the same thing to them - at funerals.

DR Kevin, Wordle in three would have been more appropriate for the page ;)

Yes, and two would be even better!

;D

Wordle 1,334 3/6

I also got Lin-Manuel Miranda's score for Mufasa from the library. It's all of 17 minutes long. That's odd for a movie billed as a musical.

Very interesting. :-\

BK, the latest issue of Gramophone says that there are two forthcoming Sony box sets:

Ormandy's complete Columbia stereo recordings, 1964-1983 (94 discs)   Feb 28

Ormandy's complete RCA Victor recordings, 1936-1945 (21 discs)   Mar 28

I just used the cooktop and it was wonderful to turn it on and have the gas go on immediately without first making noises for several minutes.
