Congrats on the modern major miracle, BK!  And that's a great cover for the new book!

I’m fine with MRIs and CAT scans and such. But I am due for the colonoscopy and I have been slow to book the appointment.

The last 45 minutes have been pure hell, and I hope this does not bode ill for the remainder of the day.

I woke, got dressed in my underwear, since I was hoping to bathe this morning before some visitors arrived aropund 11:00. I turned on the TV news, opened the computer, and the first email was from my landlord: still no hot water until later today. Nix the bath.

I went to feed the cats. On my way to the kitchen I turned on the hanging lamp, then turned on the foyer light and unlocked the door. I opened the door to see if anyone had left any packages at my door, ands Stella ran out into the hall. I closed the door and began to prepare the cats' breakfast. I went back to the door and opened it, expecting to see a bored Stella to come inside.

She wasn't there, so I called her, expecting her roaming the third floor would bring her back to the Apartments A-C. There was no sopund so I called her name again. She responded with a loud cry, only it wasan't loud because it was coming from somewhere on another floor and I was hearing the sounds coming from the stairwell.

So, I got the walker, whose tote bag was filled with the recyclables and trash for the basement and went to the elevator. On the way there was a barrage of frightened kitty screams, and all I could think about was irate neighbors cursing and yellingor having a noisy cat roaming the halls. So I took the cart to the basement to empty it. If I needed a tote bag to carry Stella, it had to be emptied.

I went to the basement, dump[ed the bag's contents and rode the elevator up to five. I figured I'd better work my wat down each floor unbtil I located her. At five, I stepped off the elevator and called her name. No sounds, nada, zilch. This worried me.

I went down to four, stepped out of the elevator and called her name. Stella came round the corner of the hall and stepped into the levator with absolutely no coaxing from me. We rode down to floor and she sat in the elevator glued to my left leg. The elevator opened on three, I stepped out, she followed, and then she ran ahead to the apartment. I opened the door, and sheo the apartment. Thatch ws waiting at the door for her.

I then opened the cats food, put my cup of coffee water intp the microwave, put Thatch and Annabelle onto my teacart, picked up Stella's dish and dropped it. At my feet were was a large pile of Fancy Feast minced tuna. I got paper towels, cleaned up the mess, and opened another can of the Fancy Feast for Stella. I took the cup of water from the microwaveared my coffee, and fed the cats. And here we are.

Doug Fullington, who hired me to score the ballet in 2023, had an event on Thursday night at the NYPL for Performing Arts to celebrate his enormous tome on five classic ballets. I missed it because I thought it was on Friday night. So Doug and his partner Rich are coming to visit me around 11:00 this morning. I will ask him to sign my copy of his book. I hope it's a nice visit with no more complications.

Going down a nostalgic rabbit-hole with Dickie Goodman's "cut-in" or "break-in" records from the 70s, which consisted of a "reporter" asking questions, with the answers being short clips from pop radio hits. Examples are "Mr. Jaws" and "The Energy Crisis."  DR Rodzinski probably knows all about these.

I've got to make a panic-shop run to the supermarket before today's snowstorm gets here in the early afternoon. Just a few things needed, but it has to be done. The crowds will be HELL.
