Interesting.  I still think that they should've cast an actor who actually physically resembled Lorenz Hart in the height department.

Also, I don't understand this part one and part two of Wicked.

DR Laura, have you seen the movie? In the show you have intermission after "Defying Gravity" so the audience has time to reset. They don't like showing movies with intermissions these days, so if you kept barreling on after "Defying Gravity" who would be really paying attention? Schwartz said they couldn't find a way to get around that issue, so they divided the two acts into two movies. And with that decision, they were then able to go deeper into characters and storylines than the show could.

I still think that they could've added a new song or two for someone else to sing.

Otherwise, Stephen Schwartz can't be nominated for best song, because no song was written specifically for the film.

But who would you cast who has at least similar star power to Ethan Hawke? Dustin Hoffman would be too old, Tom Cruise doesn't seem right, and I don't think Peter Dinklage would work.

Well, they could have, but they must not have wanted to. I'm not sure where you would add a song. Mr. Schwartz already has several Oscars and it sounds like he'll get a crack at it next year. I don't think they'd give Wicked films a best song Oscar two years in a row no matter how well the movies do.

I do understand Ethan Hawke's star power and his history with the director.  It's just that with the few images that I've seen of Ethan Hawke as Hart, the first thing I think of is that it's all special effects, and then thoughts like that (especially in other non-science fiction movies with similar effects) almost always take me out of the moment and I start to think of only the special effects and not the story...but that's just me.

And they didn't even add new songs!  What's that all about??

They did add a new section to "One Short Day."

By now, is it a spoiler to say who performs in that extra section, or does it possibly add to the excitement to know that those performers make a cameo appearance?

Personally, I would have liked to have known before I saw the movie. I enjoyed it more seeing it the second time when I did know.

I think I had heard that they had cameos, but I had forgotten by the time the moment came and just enjoyed the revelation.

I understand that Wicked the movie is in two parts. I guess I just don't know why. Why not make it one 2.5 hour movie.

I was talking to a friend today. His wife has friends who work and live on a national parkh. On Friday they were fired. They woke Saturday to no heat, water or utilities, so they bundled their two dogs into a car to l shelter and food. Theyc came back on Sunday to pack up their belonging and fpound the locks changed so they could not retriecve their belongoings.
