Well, my day today (today only) just got slightly less frantic.

And may I just say:  PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS.  Thank you.

The Hello, Dolly! orch rehearsal tonight is cancelled, which I wouldn't have known if I hadn't dashed off a quick note asking which entrance to use at the venue. The email that went out with that update had either a wrong email address for me or none at all, which I suspect was the case because I was a late hire.

The other thing I wouldn't have known (from the same errant email) is that the TRANSPOSITIONS are in the Google folder. This, after the same IDIOT had told me days ago that they weren't using them, everything would be in the original keys. Which I love. And I loved playing through them yesterday. It was a breath of fresh air. Because:  I hate the transpositions. Of course they're necessary. I still hate them. And now all this extra work because of them, integrating them into my books, transferring markings, etc., after thinking I am ALL DONE with the prep work.

The one good thing is that I now have the rest of the day to prepare for tomorrow, which has the greater challenges anyway.

I need something for my cough which continues to get worse.  I should call my doctor but I doubt he will prescribed cough medicine with codeine unless he sees me.

Keith suggested I take a Mucinex, except I couldn't get the pill down and eventually gagged it back up.

Does anyone else have trouble swallowing pills?  I'm much better than I used to be.

Oy! Zelenskyy vs JD Vance and the Godfather was truly an embarrassing situation with the Fat Orange Felon behaving like a mafia don: kiss my ass, show us your grateful, thank me . . . absolutely disgusting and the nerve to allow this to go on in public. I wonder how much of this Zelenskyy ambush was planned in advance by these two shits posing as American politicians.

BK, I have one piece of advice: for your own good, steer far away from Mr Siretta, and I would advise Doug to do the same.

Wikipedia also features a paragraph on February about the different ways the word is pronounced, being accepting of them because of the confusion caused by two r's being so close together in between two vowels.

I have always been a "feb-you-erry" kind of guy, but some do say "feb-roo-erry".  And that is fine, too.

They make a nod to the differences in the British and American ways of saying the whole word, with we Yanks ending the word with emphasis on the "erry" at the ending and Brits not doing so.

Several years ago, I saw (several times over several days) this commercial advertising an upcoming concert in Seattle, and the announcer pronounced the month as "Febber-erry."  He very specifically pronounced it that way the several times he said the word in the commercial!
