And if anyone recalls, that show was sponsored by Lucky Strike cigarettes.

Oddly enough, I was enamored of Les Paul and Mary Ford and their recordings.  That was because my grandfather, who lived with us a few years before he remarried (as a widower), had a wonderful console with record player and a lot of 78 rpm records, including a lot of Paul and Ford's recordings.

"The World is Waiting for the Sunrise' was a particular favorite.

Today is Tuesday, March 4th, here in Johnston SC, part of the CSRA.

I trust it's the same where y'all are.

We got about 0.2 inches of rain overnight. The plants looked happy.

Having watched Some Like It Hot last night, I am down to two Billy Wilder-directed movies (Ace in the Hole, The Apartment) and four movies he wrote, including Ninotchka and People on Sunday. I found another, Emil and the Detectives, on YouTube recently. It appears to be a children’s movie.

John G, I was going to ask you if you’d seen People On Sunday. I have a record from Europe of a new electronic score an artist called Dominique Dumont made for a screening at a festival in the French Alps a few years ago.

I coveted a Gale Storm LP recently at a thrift shop. Alas the condition was too poor.

I saw it about 12-15 years ago and loved it so much that I bought it for Mom. I inherited that DVD.

Last night, Rodzinski posted:
Quote
I don’t like that George resetting his breakers didn’t help fix the issue. But G, look around the house for all your GFCI outlets. The ones with little trip switches on them, often in bathroom and kitchen. One of those may be on the circuit, could have tripped and needs to be reset at the outlet. Worth checking all those.

Thanks, I have already reset some of those, but I don't know if I've checked all that are here.  I'll look again tomorrow to make sure that I didn't miss any.  I know that there aren't any of those kinds of outlets in the room that lost power.

Could be anywhere else in the house that just happens to be on the same circuit.

The laundry is in the dryers. While I was in the basement waiting for the washers to finish up, I spoke to Doug in Seattle about the ballet: orchestra suites for concert, the North Carolina School of the Arts, and a proposal to a major ballet company.

I picked up the mail, and when I got up to the apartment, cleaned up the Amazon Fresh delivery bags. I'm ready to head back down to toss out the bags and empty the dryers.
